Castle Serenity Pellet Stove Exhaust Gasket (6.5" diameter with a 5/8" centered hole). The exhaust gasket creates an airtight seal between the fans mounting plate and fan housing. This seal is extremely important! An improper seal in this area of the stove can cause smoke and exhaust gases to leak out into the room. It is very important to check this gasket regularly.
Replacement For Part Number:
Outside Diameter | 6 1/2" |
Hole Diameter | 5/8" |
Installation Instructions:
1.) Unplug the power from the unit.
2.) Remove the side panel closest to the combustion blower.
3.) Disconnect the 3 wires running to the motor (Pay special attention to the location of the yellow and green ground wire.)
4.) Remove the 4 wing nuts holding the mounting plate in place.
5.) Gently pull out the motor & scrape away any gasket material that may be left sticking to the housing.
6.) Using a small adjustable wrench remove the fan blade retainer nut.
7.) Gently slide the fan blade off the shaft.
8.) Remove the old gasket (Make sure all remnants of the old gasket are removed so the new gasket sits flat against the mounting plate).
9.) Slide the new gasket into place.
10.) Reinstall the fan blade and retainer nut.
11.) Reinstall the motor. Make sure it seats tightly against the housing (Be careful not to damage the fan blade when setting the blower in place).
12.) Reinstall the 4 wingnuts.
13.) Reconnect the 3 wires to the blower (Make sure the yellow and green ground wire is connected to the proper spot on the motor).
14.) Reinstall the side panel and plug in the unit.
Helpful Tips:
The majority of all pellet stoves problems are either directly or indirectly related to general maintenance and cleaning issues. Regularly cleaning your stove will allow it to function properly and will extend the life of most of the stove’s components. Airflow plays a huge role in the overall functionality of your stove. As the airflow becomes restricted, the stove loses efficiency. Oftentimes build-up around the exhaust fan can cause a number of issues that mimic a failing motor.
