Install Instructions For Hearthstone Craftsbury 8390 Glass (14 5/16" x 9 9/16"): 93-58905-OEM
Before you begin make sure that the fire is completely out, and the stove is cool to the touch!
Instructions:
1.) Remove the front door by first tapping out the top hinge pin with a hammer and punch (or small nail). Then, lift the door straight up and off the stove (Be careful to keep the pins and washers for reassembly). Place the door face down. (Use a soft surface for doors with an enamel finish).
2.) To replace the glass gasket in the front door, first apply penetrating oil to each of the three screws holding the glass to the front door. Using a cross-tip screwdriver, remove these three screws.
3.) Next, carefully lift off the damaged glass and discard it. Pull out the used gasket left in the door and discard it. Clean the gasket channel using steel wool or a wire brush. Clean the channel to remove any loose residue.
4.) Install the new gasket by peeling the paper backing off the gasket and packing it into the prepared gasket channel. Start pressing the gasket into the hinged side of the door. Continue around until the gasket ends meet (Do not stretch or bunch the gasket as it is placed into the door). Trim any excess with the scissors.
5.) Carefully place the new glass back on the door. Secure it by replacing the clips and screws, remembering to place a new flat gasket pad between each retention clip and the glass.
6.) Return the door to the stove. Line the door up on the hinges and fit the bottom pin in place. Fit the top pin in place. Make sure the washers are repositioned in their original locations between the hinge tabs
