Description

Hearthstone II Wood Stove Glass.  It is important to periodically inspect the glass and glass gasket on your wood stove to ensure you have a proper seal.  A crack in the glass or a missing / deteriorated gasket could allow smoke or flue gases to enter the room.

Measurements are 10 3/8" x 7 3/8"

*Check your dimensions carefully. Several sizes were manufactured*.

A Note About Our Glass: Unlike some manufacturers, we do not use tempered glass. Tempered glass should NEVER be used in a wood fuel stove, it is not suitable for high heat use. Our glass is made to resist very high temperatures up to 1,400° F / 760° C with low thermal expansion.

Instructions

Install Instructions For Hearthstone II Glass (10 3/8" x 7 3/8"): 92-58205

Install Instructions:

1. Open the front door. Using a hammer and punch (or small bolt), tap the hinge pins up from the bottom until the door is free. Place the door face down on a workbench or table.

2. With the 5/16" wrench, remove the four screws that hold the glass to the front door and save the screws for reuse. Carefully lift the glass from the door and remove the old tape (Note: some models have two ceramic glass pieces, remove the gasket from both pieces).

3. Cut the six feet of the new tape gasket into two three-foot sections. Pull the paper backing off from the back of one of these sections. Wrap the tape around the perimeter of the ceramic glass, overlapping it on both the front and back of the glass (If you have a single pane of glass, discard the extra tape gasket; if you have two panes of glass, wrap the remaining tape around the second pane of glass).

4. Carefully place the glass back into the front door. If you have two panes of glass, place the outer glass into the door first and then place the inner glass directly on top of the first glass. Replace the retaining clips (or frame) and snug the screws with the 5/16" wrench.

5.) Reinstall the door.

Troubleshooting

Helpful Tips:

If you need to remove the glass or glass gasket it is a good idea to spray any fasteners with a product like WD40 or PB Blaster prior to this step. This will greatly reduce the possibility of stripping or breaking any screws / bolts during removal. When reinstalling the glass tighten the fasteners in a crisscross pattern. This will help to ensure there is even pressure on the glass (Do not overtighten).

Warranty

Please open and inspect your glass to make sure that it has arrived intact. Damage Claims for broken glass from shipping MUST be made within 72 hrs of delivery, no exceptions. Glass breaking from after installation is NOT covered under warranty, this is due to improper installation. If you do not feel comfortable replacing your glass, please contact a licensed technician. For instructions on proper glass installation, please read the instructions provided in the instructions tab.
