Description

Ashley (Wood/Coal) Furnace Smoke Curtain Door Clip.  This clip attaches the smoke curtain to the unit and allows the curtain to pivot back when fuel is loaded into the furnace.  It is important to periodically inspect these clips to make sure they are in good condition.  If the clips are damaged or extremally corroded they should be replaced!

Assembly Instructions For Ashley Furnace Smoke Curtain Door Clip: 23787

1.) Reach into the unit and loosen the two nuts attached to the carriage bolts (It is a good idea to spray these nuts with penetrating oil prior to removal).

2.) Remove the nuts from the carriage bolts and remove the old clips. This will free the smoke curtain (Pay attention to the position of the clips. The new clips will need to be positioned in the same way).

3.) Reposition the new clips and thread the nuts back onto the carriage bolts (Do not tighten all the way unit the smoke curtain is in place).

4.) Position the smoke curtain in place and tighten the nuts with a wrench
