Description

-US Stove Company Ceramic Fiber Board.  The fiber board is an important part of your unit.  This board redirects flue gases inside the stove and increases the temperature of the reburn tubes.  When the tubes become "superheated," they will reburn excess smoke and flue gas increasing your stoves efficiency.

-The board also protects the top of the stove.  If the board is deteriorated or you notice large cracks forming it should be replaced.  You should not burn your stove without a functional baffle board in place!

Instructions

Install Instructions For US Stove Ceramic Fiber Board: 88146

1.) Make sure the fire is completely out and your stove is cool to the touch.

2.) Open the main load door.

3.) Locate the retainer clip and bolt on the first reburn tube.

4.) On most stoves 1-2 of the reburn tubes will need to be removed in order to take out the baffle board (On some units, you may be able to carefully remove the board without removing any of the tubes).

5.) Spray the bolts holding the retainer clips in place with penetrating oil and let them sit (PB Blaster or WD40 works well).

6.) Remove the first 1-2 retainer clips and reburn tubes (Normally, this will give you enough room to remove the baffle).

7.) Slide the old baffle out (If your model has a "Wool Blanket" that will be removed at this time).

8.) Position the new baffle in its place (Make sure the new baffle is positioned correctly. If it is too far forward it may cause issues with the burn).

8.) Reinstall any previously removed tubes, blankets, and retainer clips.

9.) Close the door.

Troubleshooting

-The baffle board is an important part of your stove. The main purpose of this board is to cause the reburn tubes to become superheated. When this happens, unburned smoke and flue gases traveling past the tubes ignite, increasing your stove's efficiency. The board also protects the top of your stove from direct contact with the flame. If your stove is not burning as it should you should check to make sure that the board is positioned correctly.
