Description

Ashley (Wood/Coal) Furnace Cast Iron Shaker Grate (13" X 5" X 2 1/4").  This grate sits at the bottom of your unit. It allows air to flow into the fire and ashes to pass down to the lower pan.  It is important to inspect the grates periodically.  If you notice warped, cracked, or broken grates, they should be replaced!

1.) Slip the shaker lug into the hole and place grates into the frame (The two-piece grates must be installed together. Make sure the arch of the grates faces upward).

2.) Check out grate rotation by placing the shaker handle on the grate lug and make sure they rotate freely.

Important Note: The grates are designed to withstand high temperatures. However, you should not overfire the furnace. Overfiring can fuse or melt the grates.

You should inspect the grates on a regular basis. If you notice that the grates are warped, cracked, or show heavy signs of deterioration they should be replaced!

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects.
