1.) Unplug the unit's power cord.

2.) Locate the rheostat control. On some units, the assembly may be exposed. On others, you may need to remove a cover plate or side shield to gain access.

3.) Simply disconnect the spade connectors coming from the rheostat and remove it. You may need to remove the rheostat knob in order to do this.

4.) Connect to spade connectors on the new rheostat to the leads coming off the unit.

5.) Position the new rheostat in place.

5.) Reinstall the knob and any previously removed cover plates or shields.

Troubleshooting Notes

If your rheostat is not adjusting the fan speed correctly or you are experiencing reduced airflow, it may need to be replaced. Before replacement, please review the information below.

If your distribution blower does not seem to be moving the same amount of air as it once did, inspect and clean the blower. Distribution blowers will often draw dust and pet hair into the blades of the fan when operating.

If the blower continues to rotate at a slower speed after it has been cleaned or you hear excessive noise coming from the fan it may need to be replaced.

Warranty

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for special parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers are responsible for return shipping charges.

We ship to Canada! We estimate USPS to take 4-10 days once receiving your package. Please note, we are unable to track US Postal packages once they cross the US border and cannot guarantee shipping times. All customs fees incurred are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in the total price. Please allow an extra 2-5 days for all shipments to Canada. Free shipping is not available to Canada.
