Description

Hearthstone Wood Stove Glass Installation and Maintenance Kit for Bennington 8350. It is important to periodically inspect the glass glass gasket on your wood stove to ensure you have a proper seal. A missing / deteriorated gasket could allow smoke or flue gases to enter the room. 

Includes the following parts:

  • (5 feet) 3110-056 Rope Gasket
  • (3) 3120-021 Glass Clip Gaskets  
  • (9) 4500-2105 10-24x1/4” Machine Screw
  • (1) Glass Cleaner

Install Instructions For Hearthstone Bennington 8350 Glass Installation & Maintenance Kit For 93-58507

Instructions:

1. To replace the glass, open the doors and lift them straight up and off the stove. Be sure to save the hinge pins and spacers for reassembly (Make a note of the number and placement of the spacers for the reassembly). Lay the doors on a flat surface with the glass panels facing up.

2.) Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the glass clips in place. Retain the clips and screws for reassembly (New flat gasket sections should be used under the clips).

3.) Carefully remove and discard damaged glass. Remove the worn gasket from the door. Clean the surface with a wire brush and wipe it clean with a damp cloth.

4.) Pull the paper backing off the 3/16” rope, a little at a time. Press the adhesive side of the gasket down onto the door to seal and cushion the glass. Trim to fit.

5.) Place the new glass panel back onto the door and secure it with the clips and screws (Make sure a flat section of the gasket is placed between the glass and the clips to cushion the glass).

6.) Place the doors back onto the stove (Remember to replace the spacers and washers). 

Troubleshooting

Helpful Tips:

If you need to remove the glass or glass gasket it is a good idea to spray any fasteners with a product like WD40 or PB Blaster prior to this step. This will greatly reduce the possibility of stripping or breaking any screws/bolts during removal. When reinstalling the glass tighten the fasteners in a crisscross pattern. This will help to ensure there is even pressure on the glass (Do not overtighten).

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for these parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers must cover shipping.
