Vogelzang Wood Stove Ceramic Fiberboard (TR009): 88226. The baffle board helps to redirect flue gases inside the stove. This helps to increase the temperature of the reburn tubes, increasing the stove's efficiency. If either board is missing or damaged, it should be replaced!

*Two boards are required for a complete baffle replacement*

Note: The design of these baffles has been changed to allow for better airflow. They are now (14 1/2" x 10 3/8"). Some units have a narrower firebox; if necessary, the baffles can be trimmed down by 1/8" to 1/4" using a box cutter.

Instructional Notes

1.) Make sure the fire is completely out, and your stove is cool to the touch.

2.) Open the main load door.

3.) Locate the retainer clip and bolt on the first reburn tube.

4.) On most stoves, 1-2 of the reburn tubes will need to be removed to take out the baffle board and blanket (On some units, you may be able to carefully remove these items without removing any of the tubes).

5.) Spray the bolts holding the retainer clips in place with penetrating oil and let them sit (PB Blaster or WD40 works well).

6.) Remove the first 1-2 retainer clips and reburn tubes (Normally, this will give you enough room to remove the baffle and blanket).

7.) Slide the old baffle and blanket out.

8.) Position the new baffle and blanket in place (Make sure the new baffle and blanket are positioned correctly. If they are too far forward, it may cause issues with the burn).

9.) Reinstall any previously removed tubes and retain clips.

10.) Close the door.
