Description

Ashley (Pellet Stove) 6" Round Combustion Blower Gasket.  The combustion blower gasket makes a seal between the combustion blower and the blower housing.  A proper seal in this area is very important.  If the gasket is damaged or worn exhaust may escape and enter the room.  You should inspect this gasket on a regular basis!

*Fits between the blower motor and the blower housing on the 80602 & 80473 combustion blowers*.

Instructions

Install Instructions For Ashley Combustion Blower Gasket (6" Round): 88148

1.) Unplug your stove and make sure the unit is cool to the touch.

2.) Locate the combustion blower (The combustion blower will be directly behind the exhaust collar on most stoves). To gain access to this area you may need to remove the rear and side panels (This will vary depending on what stove you have).

3.) Loosen and remove the bolts attaching the combustion blower to the combustion blower housing.

4.) Remove the blower from the blower housing and set it next to the unit (Take care not to damage any wires).

5.) Remove the old gasket (If sections of the old gasket are stuck to the housing you can use a flathead screwdriver to remove them).

6.) Once the surface is clean position the new gasket in place (On most units the combustion blower can be attached to the unit once the screws are partially threaded into the blower housing. If this is the case with your blower, you should get the screws started while your positioning the gasket in place).

7.) If your gasket is set in place and the screws are partially threaded into the blower housing: line up the holes on the blower flange with the screws on the housing, set the blower in place, rotate the blower slightly and tighten the screws down in a crisscross pattern.

8.) Reinstall any previously removed panels/vent pipe and plug in your stove.

Troubleshooting

-The combustion blower gasket should be inspected on a regular basis. If you are noticing a smoke smell or visibly see smoke around your stove the unit should be shut down and all gaskets should be inspected. When inspecting around the combustion blower look for signs of smoke spillage. Often you will see black or brown stains on or around the combustion blower gasket if there is a leak in this area. You can try tightening the screws if they are loose. If tightening the screws does not resolve the issue or the gasket is visibly damaged it should be replaced!
