Tools Needed: ¾” deep well socket – ½” open end wrench – hand pliers or crescent wrench
Place the latch handle through the 5/8” dia. Hole located on left center of door. Place 5/8 lock washer on and then put a small amount of lock tight on aluminum threads. Place 5/8 nut (be careful not to cross the threads) on and using the ¾” deep well socket, tighten the nut. Be careful not to over-tighten the nut as it is aluminum and could strip out. The latch handle should be facing parallel with the side of the door on the MagnuM Countryside and perpendicular with the door on the MagnuM 7500 furnace.
Place the 5/16 nut on the threaded shaft app. ¾” from the end of the threaded shaft. Place the 5/16 lock washer and bracket on and then the tang. The tang should be facing up and the bracket should be facing so that the angle is under the bottom of the tang. Install the outer 5/16 nut on the threaded shaft and holding the tang with the pliers or crescent tighten the outer nut against the tang. The tang will need to be adjusted either in or out to make the door tighten properly. Proper adjustment would be when you close the door and close the latch it should pull the door into the gasket and seal but not be so tight that the latch binds.
