Instructions

Install Instructions For Ashley Pellet Stove Air (Pressure/Vacuum) Switch: 80549-AMP

To replace the pressure switch:

  1. Unplug the unit.
  2. Remove the necessary panels from the unit to allow access to the switch.
  3. Locate the switch.
  4. Disconnect the wire leads attached to the switch.
  5. Remove the vacuum hose from the port on the switch.
  6. Loosen and remove the screws attaching the switch to the mounting bracket /rear of the stove.
  7. Position the new switch in the same orientation as the old switch (Unless the instructions specify a different position).
  8. Reinstall the previously removed screws.
  9. Reconnect the wire leads and vacuum hose.
  10. Reposition and install any previously removed panels.
  11. Plug in the stove and test the unit to confirm it is operating as it should.

Note: Some switches will connect to the positive side port and will open up when backpressure occurs. This is less common (If the port for the vacuum hose on the unit is located downstream of the combustion blower, your stove may be set up like this).

Troubleshooting

Testing The Switch:

-Disconnect the air hose from the body of the stove.

-With the hose still attached to the air switch, gently create suction on the loose end of the hose — a syringe taped to the opposite end works well for this (It is also a good idea to remove the hose entirely from both the stove port and the air switch beforehand to confirm it is clear of any obstructions). If you hear an audible click, the air switch is likely functioning correctly.

-You can repeat these steps while probing the tabs on the switch with a multimeter to confirm whether or not you have continuity when vacuum is applied (Use caution during this step, as too much draw can damage the switch).

If the switch appears to be operating correctly but you are still receiving a vacuum-related error code, check the following:

  1. All gaskets are in good condition.
  2. The main load door and ash door are closing properly.
  3. There are no obstructions in the exhaust vent or combustion blower.

Vacuum switch

I installed the part and it seems to be working just fine. I recently replaced the power panel/mother board, it needed replaced;but needed the vacuum switch to get the stove working properly. I did replace all the rope gaskets on the door and ash pan at the same time of vacuum switch. All good for now. Thanks for the parts.!!
