Description

Hearthstone Wood Stove Baffle Kit (Tribute).  The baffle board helps by holding heat in the firebox, causing the reburn tubes to reach extremely high temperatures.  It also stops the flue gases from quickly exiting the stove and forces them to travel across the tubes allowing reburn to take place. 

Kit Contains: (1) Baffle Board, (1) SS Bracket, and (2) SS Wires.

Install Instructions:

1) Remove the damaged baffle from the firebox. If it is still in place above the secondary air pipes, lift the back end up and so that the front edge of the baffle will come down and slide out between the two air pipes. Discard the original baffle.

2) Place the new baffle assembly in the firebox with the bracket on the top and to the rear of the firebox.

3) Work the back end of the baffle up between the front and rear secondary air pipes and allow it to drop down onto the tubes (Make sure the baffle support is in place on the front secondary air tube and that the baffle board is seated on the baffle support steel).

4) Each of the wires should be placed so that one end is in front, and one end is in the back of the rear air pipe. The loose ends of the wires can now be wrapped around the rear tube. Twist-tie both and bent them out of the way.

Helpful Tips:

It is important to inspect the baffle board on a regular basis. Missing pieces or cracks in the baffle may reduce how effectively the reburn system works. If you notice signs of deterioration as previously mentioned the board should be replaced.

I've had the stove for 13 years and have always thought the baffle board was sketchy at best. I finally decided to change it and was thrilled to see a video of how to do it. The video confirmed my suspicions about the original baffle board. It was pieced in there and wasn't a proper fit. I ordered the affordable baffle board from Wood Pellet Stove Parts 4 Less and I am completely satisfied with my install and the stove performance. Toasty in Ohio. 01/29/19. 15 degrees outside.
