A worn door latch can allow smoke to enter the room, reduce your stoves efficiency and cause the stove to over fire.

Install Instructions For US Stove Company Circulator (2-Step Long) Load Door Latch: 22434

Instructional Notes

1.) Open the main load door.

2.) Locate the nut securing the door latch to the stub of the door handle.

3.) Using a wrench, loosen and remove the nut (It is a good idea to spray the nut with a product like PB Blaster or WD40 and let it set for several minutes prior to removal).

4.) Once the nut and washer are removed slide the door latch from the threaded rod of the handle (Pay attention to the position of the door latch prior to removal. The new latch will need to be positioned in the same orientation).

5.) Position the new door latch in place.

6.) Reinstall the previously removed washer and nut.

Troubleshooting Notes

-If the door is not sealing correctly inspect the gasket and check to see if the retainer nut can be adjusted. If the gasket is in good condition and the retainer nut can not be tightened the door latch may need to be replaced.
