Replacement Temperature Sensor/ Proof of Fire Switch/ Snap Disc 125 Degrees (52C) for Castle pellet stoves.

This is a thermodisc, or more commonly known as a snap switch. It is what relays to the controller that a fire started in the burn pot and the ignitor can now shut down. If you find that your stove is shutting down shortly after the pellets have begun burning, it may indicate that this switch is faulty.

Installation:

1.) Unplug the power cord from the unit.

2.) Remove the side panel closest to the exhaust flange.

3.) Locate the Proof of Fire switches on the exhaust pipe housing above the exhaust motor.

4.) Unplug both spade connectors from the active switch.

5.) Using a small flathead screwdriver remove both screws holding the switch plate in place.

6.) Install your new switch into the recess.

7.) Reinstall both screws.

8.) Plug both spade connectors onto the new switch (The orientation of the wires on this switch does not matter).

9.) Reinstall the side plate.

10.) Plug the power cord back into the unit.

Troubleshooting Notes

This is a F125-20 made from a ceramic material which is high-heat tolerant. Because it's normally open, it's most often referred to as a fan switch. At ambient room temperature this switch is normally open or OFF and needs to detect heat to CLOSE to allow power to flow through the circuit. The switch will close at 105 degrees to restore power and will return to it's normal state at 125 degrees to cut power automatically. Failure of this switch happens when it stops opening or closing at the designated temperature thresholds.

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for special parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers are responsible for return shipping charges.

We ship to Canada! We estimate USPS to take 4-10 days once receiving your package. Please note, we are unable to track US Postal packages once they cross the US border and cannot guarantee shipping times. All customs fees incurred are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in the total price. Please allow an extra 2-5 days for all shipments to Canada. Free shipping is not available to Canada.

We ship to both Alaska and Hawaii! We do not offer next day or two day shipping to Alaska or Hawaii. Free shipping is not available to Alaska or Hawaii.
