Warranty

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects.   • I have a pit boss pb820d well the cav-01 work

    Yes. Plug and play.

  • I have Pit Boss 700 Rancher that I bought at Rural King last year, the control board has a plug in for an external meat probe but does not have a P control for smoke. Can I buy a control that has a P control and input that will it work on this smoker.

    The controller you have with your 700 Rancher does not have a "P" setting and is what is known as a PID controller. It monitors the temperature in real time and makes adjustments as required, thus, eliminating the need for a "P" setting. There is some debate about PID controllers; they do not allow a grill to work as a smoker because the combustion is always optimized and smoke is a byproduct of incomplete combustion. However, the controller is designed to let the grill smoke at temperatures below 225°F on the dial setting. 

    This controller is compatible with Pit Boss Grills:
    PB1000R1 PB700R1 PB440TGR1
    However, the PB1000R1, which is the Rancher XL seems to have a controller update to a V.3 controller but I'm not finding any info on it.
