Install Instructions For Ashley Wood (Furnace/Heater) Pumice Firebrick (4-1/2" x 9"): 89066A

Before removing any firebrick, please review the firebrick diagram for your specific model.

  1. Lay out the new firebrick.
  2. Start by laying out the new firebrick on the floor. It is helpful to lay out the bricks for each section individually and compare them with the bricks currently installed in the stove (i.e., rear, right side, left side, and bottom).
  3. Inspect the firebox.
  4. Check the firebox to determine whether any brick retainers need to be removed. If so, remove the retainers at this time.
  5. Remove the existing firebrick.
  6. Carefully remove the existing firebrick, paying attention to the order in which the bricks are removed. In most cases, the side and rear firebrick must be removed before the bottom firebrick can be removed.
  7. Install the new firebrick.
  8. Install the new firebrick in the reverse order of removal.
  9. Reinstall the brick retainers.
  10. Reinstall any brick retainers that were previously removed.

Troubleshooting

Fire bricks help to protect the stove's firebox from damage caused by excessive heat. They also help to reflect and retain heat inside the stove. It is important that fire bricks are installed in the appliance and inspected on a regular basis. It is ok to have a few small cracks in the bricks. If you notice large cracks or missing pieces, the bricks should be replaced!


Warranty

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for these parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers must cover shipping.
