Description

Replacement Glass For Select Hearthstone Gas Stoves.  It is important to periodically inspect the glass and glass gasket on your stove to ensure you have a proper seal.  A crack in the glass or a missing / deteriorated gasket could allow exhaust to enter the room. 

Replacement For Models: Tudor DV 8120

A Note About Our Glass: Unlike some manufacturers, we do not use tempered glass. Tempered glass should NEVER be used in a wood fuel stove, it is not suitable for high heat use. Our glass is made to resist very high temperatures up to 1,400° F / 760° C with low thermal expansion.

Install Instructions For Hearthstone Tudor DV 8120 Glass (17-11/16" × 10-3/4"): 3030-044

Instructions:

1) Remove the cast top of the stove by lifting it straight up and off the unit.

2) Remove the front façade by lifting it up and off the front.

3) Using a flat tip screwdriver, lift and rotate up the two retaining clips on the top of the firebox and remove the glass front.

4.) Remove the glass from the glass frame (On some models you may need to drill out the rivets. On others you may need to remove fasteners. Pay special attention to how the gasket is positioned along the glass).

5.) Install the new gasket around the glass.

6.) Reposition the glass into the glass frame and install new rivets or reinstall the previously removed fasteners.

7.) Reposition the glass frame with new glass on the front of the stove.

8.) Rotate the two retaining clips back into position.

9.) Reinstall the front facade.

10.) Set the cast top back in place.

Troubleshooting

Helpful Tips:

Pay special attention to how the gasket is installed on the old glass and how the glass sets in the glass frame prior to removal. If there are any fasteners that need to be removed, it is a good idea to spray them with a product like WD40 or PB Blaster prior to removal. This will greatly reduce the possibility of stripping or breaking any screws/bolts during removal.


Warranty

Please open and inspect your glass to make sure that it has arrived intact. Damage Claims for broken glass from shipping MUST be made within 72 hrs of delivery, no exceptions. Glass breaking from after installation is NOT covered under warranty, this is due to improper installation. If you do not feel comfortable replacing your glass, please contact a licensed technician.
