Read More About Our Shipping InformationIs this switch correct to turn on a fan when the heat rises on the fire place box? What are the contacts rated for?
Hi,
This switch will shut the stove off it the body of the stove gets tp 200 degrees. There is a fan switch that will trigger the convection/room air fan to turn on when the body of the stove reaches 140 degrees. This fan helps to keep the stove from over heating in addition to pushing the hot air into the room. If the fan switch has failed or the fan is not responsive then the stove will get too hot. The function of the high limit switch (w660-0055) is to shut down before overheating damage can occur.
