Instructions

  • Always use the factory recommended gaskets and fasteners to secure the glass in your stove. Some of our glass comes with gasket, others do not, please order accordingly.
  • Every stove is different, when removing your old glass, pay attention to the system your stoves uses to secure the glass. Take pictures of your old glass in stages as you remove it from the stove so that you have a reference of how the new glass needs to be reinstalled.
  • Use caution when tightening down the hardware. Fasteners should hold the glass in place. Think “snug” but not “tight”. The system must allow for expansion as the glass is heated. Overtightening fasteners, allowing the glass to “float” or move around, or allowing any metal on the door system to touch the glass will most always result in the glass breaking when the stove is heated.
  • A basic rule with stove glass:
    • The channels the glass is mounted in should be clean, flat, and free of debris.
    • Gasket material provides an airtight seal where the glass and stove meet, this prevents the glass from making direct contact with any metal on the stove.
    • Many stoves are equipped with and “air wash” to help keep the glass clean. This is usually accomplished by removing a section of the glass gasket at the top or the bottom of the glass. If you see a section of gasketing “missing” this is probably why.
  • When handling stove glass, wear gloves to prevent oils from your skin making contact with the glass. Gloves will also reduce the chance of any glass or gasket manufacturing debris from being absorbed into your skin.

Warranty

Please open and inspect your glass to make sure that it has arrived intact. Damage Claims for broken glass from shipping MUST be made within 72 hrs of delivery, no exceptions. Glass breaking from after installation is NOT covered under warranty, this is due to improper installation. If you do not feel comfortable replacing your glass, please contact a licensed technician. For instructions on proper glass installation, please read the instructions provided in the instructions tab.

Put my stove back in business

I accidentally cracked one of the glass pieces on my stove as I am burning wood that I did not cut and was cut for a larger stove. One of these pieces I thought was wedged in far enough but wasn't. I ordered the replacement glass Saturday morning and it was received Monday via USPS priority. I couldn't be happier to get my primary heat source back on line quickly.

If your question does not concern this specific product, please ask your question here!
Ask a Question
  • Need a glass for my Encore vermount castings wood stove, Model 2550. Other than the glass (left and right) not being interchangable--they are identical. Your illustrations show a difference in shape (30005300,top corner beveled), thus my confusion. I need a left glass , (left side facing the stove). Stove was purchased around 2002 and there is an array of cast iron bracing in front of the glass, not just glass . Thanks

The left side glass has a corner cropped and the right side does not. Those are the differences.
