Ashley Pellet Stove Low Temperature Therm-O-Disc (140F): 80599. This switch detects the increase in exhaust temperature, verifying that the fire has started. This allows the unit to shift from start-up to a maintenance burn. If your unit lights initially but goes out after the fire is established, this switch may need to be replaced.

Instructions

Install Instructions For Ashley Pellet Stove Low Temp (140F) Therm-O-Disc: 80599

1.) Make sure your unit has completely cooled.

2.) Disconnect the power from your stove.

3.) Remove the needed panels to gain access to the Therm-O-Disc (Normally, the low limit switch is mounted on the combustion blower housing).

4.) Disconnect the wires from the switch.

5.) Remove the two screws securing the thermal disk to the exhaust blower housing and remove the old switch (Remove the old gasket as well if it needs to be replaced).

6.) Hold the gasket in place and set the new thermal disk in the opening.

7.) Install the previously removed screws to secure the switch in place.

8.) Reconnect the wires on either side of the thermal disk.

9.) Replace any previously removed panels.

10.) Reconnect power to the unit and run a test burn to confirm the stove is operational.

Troubleshooting

This is a L140-10 made from a ceramic material which is high-heat tolerant. Because it's normally closed, it's most often referred to as a limit switch. At ambient room temperature this switch is normally closed or ON and is ready to power a circuit. The switch will open at 140 degrees to cut power and will return to it's normal state at 130 degrees to restore power automatically. Failure of this switch happens when it stops opening or closing at the designated temperature thresholds.

Warranty

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for these parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers must cover shipping.

Fixed issue with stove turning off shortly after startup

Our Ashley pellet stove would turn off 10 to 15 minutes after starting up and blink e3, error code 3. This thermostat fix the problem and the pellet stove has started up and run normally about six times since then. Delivery was faster than expected.

The website was very easy to maneuver and ordering was simple. The only problem I had was the time it took to get to me. I don't feel that was this company's fault, however. They shipped it in a timely manner but it happened to be during the holiday period. Would definitely use them again
