Description

Breckwell Pellet Stove Door Glass.  The glass on your stove allows you to view the fire and helps transfer heat into the room.  It is important to periodically inspect the glass on your stove.  If you notice black or brown streaks on the glass it may indicate that there is an air leak.  If the glass is cracked or has an excessive haze (cloudy appearance) it should be replaced.  

*Glass does not come with a gasket.  If you need a gasket, order part number C-G-033.*

A Note About Our Glass: Unlike some manufacturers, we do not use tempered glass. Tempered glass should NEVER be used in a wood fuel stove, it is not suitable for high heat use. Our glass is made to resist very high temperatures up to 1,400° F / 760° C with low thermal expansion.

Instructional Documents:

GLASS REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE (May Vary Depending On Model)

1. Ensure the appliance is not in operation and is thoroughly cooled.

2. Remove screw and glass clips.

3. Remove the glass from the door frame.

4. If the glass is broken, carefully remove and discard each broken piece to avoid cuts. Discard window gasket.

5. Replace the new gasket starting at the bottom of the glass and working along the edges (Be sure to center the gasket channel on the glass).

6. Trim to length and butt ends together.

7. Perform replacement procedure in reverse order after replacing glass and gasket.

8. When replacing the glass be not to overtighten the screws and clips!

Troubleshooting

Glass Care: The following usage and safety tips should be observed:

1. Inspect the glass regularly for cracks and breaks. If you detect a crack or break, immediately begin shutting down the unit. Do not operate the unit until the broken glass is replaced.

2. Do not slam the door. When closing the doors, make sure that no logs are protruding out too far. These items can impact the glass when closing the door.

3. Do not build fires against (or that might fall against) the glass.

4. Do not clean the glass with materials that may scratch (or otherwise damage) the glass. Scratches on the glass can develop into cracks or breaks during operation.

5. Never attempt to clean the glass while the unit is hot. If deposits are not very heavy, normal glass cleaners are adequate using a soft, non-abrasive cleaning pad. Heavier deposits may be removed with oven cleaners.

6. Never put substances that can ignite explosively in the unit. Even small explosions in confined areas can blow out the glass.


Warranty

Please open and inspect your glass to make sure that it has arrived intact. Damage Claims for broken glass from shipping MUST be made within 72 hrs of delivery, no exceptions. Glass breaking from after installation is NOT covered under warranty, this is due to improper installation. If you do not feel comfortable replacing your glass, please contact a licensed technician. so ill start off with this . the glass on my stove broke during cleaning on new years eve , i quickly did a search on line and found "stove and grill parts for less" .
i ordered the replacement glass, and within a few days it came in , but was wrong . i checked the receipt and checked the site and found it wasn't the correct one (to err is to human ). i emailed them and explained the issue and they promptly sent a replacement . was very fast and customer service was to[p notch , thank you again guys 5 stars , also posted on google too

Ordered this for my neighbors 23 year old Breckwell P23I insert pellet stove. I took the clips and old cracked glass out and installed the new. Everything went great accept for taking out the clips that holds the glass against the new gasket that I had also purchased. I thought for sure that I was going to have to drill out the 5 screws that were stripped right from the start. Rusted badly. I finally used the next larger size star socket, and pounded it down into what seemed like soft metal of the screws. This did the trick. The glass was already broken, so I figured, what the heck. The glass has been installed now for several days and is holding up just great. I had read one review here I think, where someone had replaced their glass, and it cracked with the first fire in the stove. I remembered this, and did NOT over tighten the screws down on the clips. Just snug. I think this after product glass was $120 dollars less than the OEM glass. So far, no complaints. Even though much cheaper than the OEM glass, it's still expensive for the size of the glass.
