USSC (Wood/Coal) Furnace Feed Door Locking Mechanism: 891097. This mechanism attaches to the side of the firebox and locks the main load door in position. If you are having issues locking the door in the closed position, this mechanism may need to be replaced.

    Note: This feed door locking mechanism may not be compatible with your old spring handle. Please use the one included in this kit.

    Install Instructions For USSC (Wood/Coal) Furnace Feed Door Locking Mechanism: 891097-AMP

    Instructional Notes

    1.) Confirm that the fire is out and the unit has completely cooled.

    2.) Open the main load door.

    3.) Locate the bolts on the left side (It is a good idea to treat these fasteners with a product like PB Blast before attempting removal).

    4.) Using a wrench and socket, loosen the nuts on the bolts holding the locking mechanism in place.

    5.) Remove the bolts and old locking mechanism.

    6.) Position the new locking mechanism.

    7.) Reinstall the previously removed bolts and tighten the previously removed nuts using your socket and wrench.

    8.) Test to confirm the new locking mechanism works as it should.
