Instructional Notes

Install Instructions:

1.) Locate the handle.

2.) On some units, the handle will be secured by a set screw or pin that will need to be removed. On others, the handle will be threaded onto the rod (If threaded, you will have to rotate the handle in a counterclockwise motion to unthread before removing it. Pay attention to the orientation of the handle prior to removal).

3.) Install the new handle by threading it onto the rod. If your handle has a set screw: position the handle and tighten the set screw (Make sure the handle is set in the correct orientation to allow for proper operation).

Helpful Tips:

It is important to periodically check the door gasket. Missing pieces or a frayed gasket may cause the door not to seal correctly. If the door is not sealing tightly this can cause a decrease in efficiency, inability to control the burn rate and may allow smoke/flue gasses to enter the room. If the gasket appears to be in good condition, the door latch has been adjusted but the door still won't seal, you may need to replace the door handle.
