Description

Blaze King Wood Stove Door Gasket (7/8" × 8').  This gasket is used to seal the main load door against the body of the stove.  It is important that you always have a good seal at the door of the stove.  If the door is not sealing tightly against the unit, it can cause a decrease in efficiency, inability to control the burn rate and may allow smoke or flue gasses to enter the room!

Instructions

Assembly Instructions For Blaze King Wood Stove Door Gasket (7/8" X 8') Part: 155.0186

DOOR GASKET REPLACEMENT:

1. Start by removing the door from the stove.

2. Place the door face down on a soft, flat, and even surface.

3. Remove the old gasket (After the gasket is removed make sure you clean or scrape away an old adhesive. It is imperative that the channel is cleaned before applying the new cement or silicone).

4. Apply a generous bead of gasket cement or silicone into the channel where the new gasket will sit.

5.) Starting on one end of the channel gently position the gasket in place (The gasket will fill the entire channel and butt together on one end. It is better to have more gasket than you need. You can trim any excess gasket at the end if necessary).

6.) Let the gasket set (Read the instructions on the back of the cement/silicone. Some gasket cement/silicone needs to sit for a predetermined amount of time before the door is reattached to the unit).

7.) Reinstall the door (Some adhesives will require the stove to be burned at a certain temperature for a period of time to cure the gasket. Check the instructions on the adhesive you're using to confirm).

Troubleshooting

Helpful Tips:

It is important to periodically check the door gasket. Missing pieces or a frayed gasket may cause the door not to seal correctly. If the door is not sealing tightly this can cause a decrease in efficiency, inability to control the burn rat,e and may allow smoke or flue gasses to enter the room. If the gasket appears damaged or you are experiencing any of the previously mentioned issues, the gasket should be replaced!
