Description

Replacement Thermopile for some models of FMI gas stoves and fireplaces (See compatibility tab). The thermopile is a heat-sensitive safety device to detect minute variations in degrees in heat generated from burning and can serve as a safety shut off.

Installation

1.) Locate the pilot assembly and find the thermopile. The thermopile is the larger of the two rods that contact the pilot flame).

2.) Using a screwdriver, remove the thermopile wires from the gas valve. Note the position of the wires on the valve before removing!

3.) Detach the thermopile from the pilot assembly.

4.) Position the new thermopile in place.

5.) Connect the thermopile wires to the valve.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Notes

When heated, the thermopile produces a millivolt current which powers a circuit opening the main gas valve. If the main burner on your unit is not kicking on or the flame drops out suddenly but the pilot flame holds, the thermopile may need to be replaced.

Warranty

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for special parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers are responsible for return shipping charges.
