Description

Blaze King Bypass Cable Repair Kit for The Princess Wood Insert.  This cable links the bypass handle to the bypass plate located inside your unit.  This control allows you to redirect exhaust from the fire and temporarily bypass the catalytic combustor.

Install Instructions:

1.) Remove the unit from the firebox.

2.) Unscrew the bypass handle and thermostat knob (Note the position of the dial when removing).

3.) Unscrew the right-hand cover from the insert.

4.) Remove the old cable from the stove by removing the brass collar and ball bushing. Remove the cable clamp from the stove.

5.) Insert the ball bushing into the cable and insert the cable through the top hole on the bypass lever going from front to back.

6.) Feed the cable through the opening. Wrap the cable counterclockwise, feeding it out through the 1st hole and back in through the second hole.

7.) Snug the cable and fasten it to the pulley using the clamp cable (Ensure the cable is not overlapping on the pulley).

8.) Slide a ball bushing onto the cable followed by a brass collar.

9.) Grab the excess cable with vise grips and pull the cable tight. Snug the collar up against the ball bushing and tighten the set screw.

10.) Cut off the excess cable. Reassemble the righthand cover, knob, and bypass handel.

11.) Reposition the unit back into the firebox.

Helpful Tips:

This cable links the bypass handle to the bypass plate located inside your unit. This control allows you to redirect exhaust from the fire and temporarily bypass the catalytic combustor. If the plate inside the unit is not moving when the bypass handle is adjusted, the cable will need to be adjusted or replaced.
