If your feed motor is not functioning and the stove appears to be within normal operating temperature, this switch may need to be replaced.

Install Instructions For Breckwell Pellet Stove (170 Degree) High Limit Snap Disc: 80390

Instructional Notes

1.) Unplug the stove.

2.) Remove any rear or side panels needed to gain access to the switch.

3.) Gently pull the spade connectors from the tabs on the switch.

4.) Unscrew the fasteners holding the switch in place.

5.) Position the new switch and reinstall the previously removed fasteners.

6.) Connect the wires to the new switch (It dose not matter which wire goes to which side).

7.) Reinstall any previously removed panels.

8.) Plug in the stove and perform a test burn.

Troubleshooting Notes

This is a L170-20 made from a bakelite material which is high-heat tolerant. Because it's normally closed, it's most often referred to as a limit switch. At ambient room temperature this switch is normally closed or ON and is ready to power a circuit. The switch will open at 170 degrees to cut power and will return to it's normal state at 150 degrees to restore power automatically. Failure of this switch happens when it stops opening or closing at the designated temperature thresholds.

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for special parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers are responsible for return shipping charges.

We ship to Canada! We estimate USPS to take 4-10 days once receiving your package. Please note, we are unable to track US Postal packages once they cross the US border and cannot guarantee shipping times. All customs fees incurred are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in the total price. Please allow an extra 2-5 days for all shipments to Canada. Free shipping is not available to Canada.
