Convection Blower Replacement: The convection blower is mounted at the bottom rear of the appliance. There are 2 impellers, one on each side of the motor. The convection blower pushes heated air through the heat exchange system into the room.

  1. Allow appliance to completely cool down before unplugging the appliance.
  2. The convection blower is located at the bottom rear of the stove. If an outside air kit is also installed, you will first need to remove the outside air flange by removing the 2 screws using a Phillips head screwdriver. You do not need to remove the flex pipe from the flange.
  3. Remove the left side curtain by removing the 3 screws securing the panel to the unit. The 3 screws are located on the side of the stove.
  4. Disconnect the wires from the blower. The wires coming from the wiring harness are purple and white and the wires coming from the blower are black and white.
  5. The blower housing is attached to the firebox with 4 screws, 2 on each side. Loosen the screws on one side and completely remove the screws on the other side. The screw holes are slots and you can now pull the housing away from the unit.

Troubleshooting

  • If your distribution blower does not seem to be moving the same amount of air as it once did inspect and clean the blower. Distribution blowers will often draw dust and pet hair into the blades of the fan when operating.
  • If the fan blades become packed with dust, hair, or other debris this can greatly reduce the efficiency of the blower. Often, a thorough cleaning will resolve this issue.
  • If the blower continues to rotate at a slower speed after it has been cleaned or you hear excessive noise coming from the fan it may need to be replaced!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

If your question does not concern this specific product, use our contact form
Ask a Question
  • This unit was recommended for our home fireplace. How does the blower turn on and off? Is the blower heat sensors to turn on? Is there an add on part for a remote control that can be purchased?

This is the replacement blower only. If you do not have any blower, look in your owners manual for the blower assembly part number. That has all of the wiring and sensors plus the switch to turn it on and off
