This important safety switch cuts power to the feed system if the pellet stove overheats and will automatically reset once the stove has cooled. This part is for the US Stove Pellet Stove Model 5040.
This is a L300-50 made from a bakelite material which is high-heat tolerant. Because it's normally closed, it's most often referred to as a limit switch. At ambient room temperature this switch is normally closed or ON and is ready to power a circuit. The switch will open at 300 degrees to cut power and will return to it's normal state at 250 degrees to restore power automatically. Failure of this switch happens when it stops opening or closing at the designated temperature thresholds.

I had so called professionals work on my pellet stove. Two hours and a $210.00 charge and the y had it working. Great right? What did they do? Wiggle wires and do some vacuuming and nothing else. I let it run overnight and shut it down. Next day tried to start and nothing. You think Im calling those clowns again. Looked at the troubleshooting chart and irdered the 3 likely parts for $70.00 and guess what- fixed it myself.
