Replacement Lower Auger Bearing for ComfortBilt Pellet Stoves. The bottom bearing is located underneath the circular plate and is held in place by a snap ring (You will need needle-nose or snap-ring pliers to fully remove this ring). When reassembling, ensure that the bearings are in place and do not bind up when the auger shaft is spun. The bearing should glide around freely with little resistance but should not “whizz” around like a skate wheel when spun.
Outer Diameter | 1 1/2" |
Inner Diameter | 13/16" |
Instructions:
1.) Unplug the stove from the power supply.
2.) Remove all pellets from the hopper.
3.) Next, remove the auger assembly and auger shaft (If you have questions about this step click on "Auger Troubleshooting" under Videos).
4.) Locate the lower bearing found in the round bottom plate.
5.) Using your needle-nose or snap-ring pliers pull both ends of the ring towards each other. This will allow you to remove the clip and free the bearing.
6.) Remove the bearing.
7.) Apply lubricant (Optional) and install the new bearing into the round bottom plate.
8.) Using your needle-nose or snap-ring pliers compress and reinsert the bearing retainer clip.
9.) Reinstall the auger shaft & round bottom plate with lower bearing in place (Make sure the top CB-UPPER-BEARING is in place prior to this step).
10.) Reinstall the auger motor assembly.
11.) Plug in the unit and add fuel to the hopper.
