US Stove (Wood/Coal) Furnace Grate (Hot Blast 1400 & 1537G): 40263. This grate keeps the fuel elevated from the base of the furnace, allowing air to flow to the base of the fire. The grate should be periodically inspected. If you notice holes forming, cracks, or any warping, the grate(s) should be replaced.

1.) Open the main load door.

2.) Remove the liner (If you are replacing both grates the front and rear liner will need to be removed).

3.) Remove the necessary firebricks to free the grate for removal ( Pay attention to the position/placement of the firebrick).

4.) Lift the grate up and out of the furnace.

5.) Carefully sit your new grate in place.

6.) Reposition any brick you previously removed

7.) Reinstall any liners that were removed.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting Notes

-The grate keeps the wood elevated from the base of the furnace and allows air to flow around the fuel properly. This helps to maximize efficiency. If you are having a hard time controlling the burn, notice that the fire is burning unevenly or you have an excessive amount of coals dropping down into the ash pan, there may be an issue with the grate. You should periodically inspect the grate in your furnace. If you notice holes forming, cracks starting or any warping the grate(s) should be replaced!

Warranty

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for special parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers are responsible for return shipping charges.

Great resource and fast service!

Needed some parts for an older stove and was thrilled to find this website. They have OEM parts but also have aftermarket parts which are much cheaper. Some things are better OEM and some you can get by with aftermarket. I did a mix of both for my order. Got the stove all fixed up today for next season or maybe a cold snap in a few weeks. Great selection of parts given the age of my stove, great prices and fast shipping. I made a bookmark and will likely have a few more orders to make. Thanks!
