Description

USSC Cast Iron Flue Collar.  The flue collar is the point where the exhaust vent connects to the unit.  Exhaust gases/smoke exit the unit and enter the flue pipe at this transition.  It is important to periodically inspect the collar to make sure it is seated correctly and in good condition.  Operating your stove with a damaged or deteriorated collar could allow exhaust gases to enter the room.

Install Instructions For US Stove Cast Iron Flue Collar (6"): 40292

*If you are mounting the stove collar to the top of a unit for the first time you will need*:

- Flue Collar

-Flue Collar Gasket

-(3) 5/16-18 x 1-1/2" Bolts

-(3) Washers

-(3) Weld tabs

1.) Peel the tape from the flue collar gasket (If using an adhesive-backed gasket) or apply gasket cement to the groove on the underside of the collar and set the flue collar gasket in place.

2.) Position the collar in place on top of the unit.

3.) Set the washers in place and slip the bolts through the washers and stove collar (Some older stoves/heaters may not have washers with the stove collar. "Click to view collar diagram").

4.) Position the weld tabs under the bottom side of the bolts and hand tighten each bolt to the weld stud.

5.) Tighten each bolt securely with a wrench or socket (You should slowly tighten each bolt a little at a time to ensure that the collar seats evenly).

Troubleshooting

-The flue collar is the transitional point when smoke/flue gasses from inside the unit exit into the exhaust vent. It is important to make sure the collar is in good condition and seats firmly against the unit. A damaged or deteriorated collar could allow exhaust gases to enter the room. If your unit's collar is damaged or shows heavy signs of deterioration it should be replaced!
