Description
ComfortBilt Pellet Stove Room Temperature Sensor (Thermostat) Wire. The purpose of this wire is to sense the ambient air temperature around the unit. (This may differ from the temperature that is felt in other parts of the room). When the stove is set to "temperature mode", this wire allows the unit to adjust the feed rate in an attempt to match the temperature set on the stove. It does this by raising or lowering the current heat level setting. The stove does not shut down when desired temp is reached. It will default to heat level 1 and maintain a slow, steady fire.
The temperature sensor reads the ambient air temperature close to the stove. The reading it shows may differ from the temperature that is felt in other parts of the room. Customers sometimes think there is an issue with the sensor because it does not read the same temp as their home thermostat. Often this temperature difference is a result of normal variation in temp in different parts of the room/home. In these situations, the probe is usually functioning as it should and does not need to be replaced.
