What is OEM & AMP?
"OEM" or Original Equipment Manufacturer are parts that the stove manufacturer makes themselves or outsources from other suppliers for their specific stove models. When you order replacement parts for your pellet stove directly from a manufacturer or it’s retailers you can be certain that these parts will be “OEM”.
"AMP" is an acronym that stands for After Market Parts. This is equipment that is sourced out directly which cuts out the stove manufacturers hefty markup. AMP equipment works exactly the same as its OEM counterpart, especially when you’re looking at blowers, igniters, fire backs, switches, gaskets and controls, as quite often, they are made by the same exact manufacturer that supplied the OEM parts as you will see with many “Fasco” blowers and “Gleason Avery” auger motors.
Here at Stove Parts 4 Less we like to offer you the choice of the OEM and the AMP version of products whenever possible to save you money. In some cases we like to offer multiple versions of the AMP part where they are made by the same manufacturer as the original or an alternative version at an even lower price. Englander Vacuum Shut-Down Switch Part CU-VS
Englander Vacuum Shut Down Switch, 0.05" WC. This is the "Door Ajar Switch." The vacuum hose from this switch connects directly to the firebox of the stove. This part is used in 2006 and later model pellet stoves.
2006 and later model pellet stoves use 1 ea CU-VS and 1 ea PU-VS. Pre 2006 models use 2 ea PU-VS.
The Vacuum Shut Down Switches (Part # PU-VS and CU-VS) help control various functions of the unit. If an operational error occurs in the unit, a switch will either stop the top (feed) auger or shut the unit off; if the unit turns off an E-1 Code (error code) will appear in the Heat Range and Blower Speed windows of the Control Board. Situations which could cause this include power failure, Combustion Blower failure, improper flue installation, a blocked flue (from rodents, nests, etc.), or “dirty burning” from burning improper fuel.
NOTE: The "door ajar" vacuum switch port must be kept clean, or the top auger will cease to function. Locate the porthole to the right of the burn pot and, with the stove unplugged and cooled down, use a brush or pipe cleaner (not a vacuum) to keep this port clear of ash or other debris (see picture).
Unfortunately sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 12 month warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Please be advised that warranty claims for these parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers must cover shipping.Click here to submit a warranty claim for this item.
