Description

This convection blower room air fan is used on the Mt Vernon AE Stove/ Insert and Edge60 built-in fireplace. It features an integrated, low-voltage circuit board for completely automatic heat distribution with a "whisper quiet" operation.

This convection blower is always referenced as SRV7000-260 in manuals which is the SKU for the first generation of blowers that were held in place by a draw latch pin, part 7000-376 (pin SKU). The SRV7034-058 is the actual part # for the second generation of blowers that have the trigger latch, part 7034-066 (Trigger latch SKU). The trigger latch style blowers started with Mt Vernon AE Stove serial 00700201367, AE Insert serial 00700103644. The connection harness between the motherboard and the blower is Convection Harness, 7034-219.

All replacement blowers now come with the trigger latch style release for easier access.

Instructions

Install Instructions For Quadra-Fire Mt Vernon AE & Edge 60 Convection Blower Fan: SRV7000-260

Convection Blower Replacement

  1. After the sides are removed, reach behind the blower and release the latch by pushing the top of the trigger latch towards the blower. Some older models will have a latch pin that needs to be puller out.
  2. Rock the top of the blower slightly and lift up and out. The blower will pass around the control board and out the side of the appliance.
  3. Disconnect the wire harness from the bottom of the blower by depressing the tabs on the sides of the connector and then pulling to remove the blower.
  4. Re-connect wire harness to the new replacement blower. Install the blower by placing the bottom flange into the opening first then rotate blower up into position.
  5. When the blower is properly positioned the latch will engage the notch to hold the blower in place

NOTE - Before attempting to do any work of this work, locate the two thermocouple input on the motherboard and disconnect each of them from the pin connection. This is a smart way to prevent any collateral damage to the pin connections while performing work in the mechanical area. Because the thermocouple wires are solid core, if the thermocouple wires are bumped or pulled on while trying to get at the blower, the small pins where they connect to the PCB can break off. Fixing this is very expensive if you have to purchase a control board.

Troubleshooting

As the temperature rises the blower increases in speed.

  • NORMAL SETTING: 135 DEGREES TO REACH MAX SPEED, 3000 RPM
  • QUIET SETTING: 165 DEGREES TO REACH MAX SPEED, 1800 RPM

Items to check if the blower is not working... (You should receive a convection blower jammed error code)

  1. Check blower for obstructions: *Clean fan blades & check fan bearing.
  2. Make sure the two halves of the blower shell are firmly clicked together and the 5 tabs are secure. Usually when the plastic casing is not snapped together properly there will be an intermittent rubbing sound as the blower increases in speed.
  3. Check blower wire harness: *Color of wires, Connector pins, test for broken wires Check over heat snap disc, 230-1290 *This is located on the pellet drop chute. Is it tripped?
  4. Check drop tube thermocouple and make sure it is firmly attached to the drop tube. Check the pins of the drop tube thermocouple at the motherboard, There must be a millivolt current being produced for the to turn the blower on.
  5. If all previous checks are good, replace the blower.
  6. If replacing the blower did not fix, replace the board, SRV7000-456

Ask a Question
  • What is the rpm. What is cfm.

I cannot make out the listing tag. I can check for you the next time I'm at the warehouse. I think it's 1850 RPM at full power. Not sure if I'll be able to find the CFM for you. This is an OEM part and there is no aftermarket for the blower at this time.
