Description

This Quadra-Fire feed motor assembly is used on all models variations for the Castile, Sante Fe, Santa Fe Insert, Mt Vernon Stove (Pre AE) and, the  Contour.

This assembly is also used for the Castile Insert-B and the Castile Insert-C made between 2011-2019.

This whole assembly is a compatible fit for all of the stoves we just listed when it is installed completely as a whole assembly.

This assembly has updates to the bearing and the motor bracket which ARE NOT COMPATIBLE with older feed assembly parts.

This assembly includes the following parts:

  • Feed Motor - 812-4421
  • Phillips Screws - (QTY 4) 8-32 X 3/8, 225-0500
  • 7/8" Lock Collar - 229-0520
  • Nylon Bearing - SRV7000-598, Replaces 410-0552
  • Motor Bracket - 7001-039, redesigned for the SRV7000-598 bearing, (replaces bracket 7001-039 that used the 410-0552 bearing)
  • Feed Motor Gasket - SRV240-0731
  • Feed Spring Assembly 14.5" - SRV7001-046 - Final bearing adjustment will set the spring depth at 13"
  • Shaft Set Screw - 5/16 - 18 X 1/4, 225-0550 (included with shaft and collar)

  • Castile Insert - This is the correct feed assembly for the CASTILE INSERT-B and CASTILE INSERT-C, which were made between Feb 2011-2019. Older models made from 2002-March 2011 use feed assembly SRV414-5400.

  • The Mt Vernon AE models use feed assembly part, SRV7034-004

Troubleshooting

The feed system is located behind the firebox and can be removed as an entire assembly. The assembly includes the feed motor, mounting bracket, bearing and feed spring (auger). The hollow feed spring (auger) pulls pellets up the feed tube from the hopper area and drops them down the feed chute into the fire pot at a set rate. The feed motor turns for 7 seconds at each feed interval. The amount of pellets fed into the stove is dictated by the OFF cycle. More pellets = more frequent intervals.

What to check if the unit is NOT feeding pellets:

  • Snap Disc #2 malfunctioned
  • Vacuum switch is not closing
  • Hopper lid switch (if equipped) is not aligned
  • Vacuum switch hose is clogged at feed tube
  • Capacitor on motor is too close to heat source or is defective
  • Bad control box

Warranty

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for these parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers must cover shipping.
