Description

Harman Pellet Stove Burn Pot Clean Out Cover.  This cover plate is located on the underside of the burn pot.  Removing this cover will give you access to the inside of the burn pot.  This plate should be removed regularly for cleaning and needs to be removed when replacing the igniter.  It is important to inspect this plate periodically to ensure it is seating correctly against the bottom of the burn pot.  If the plate dose not seal properly it can cause ignition issues and can negatively effect how your stove burns!

Notes:

  • The updated Absolute43 burnpot uses cover 1-00-777908. If you have an Absolute43 made prior to 2017, your stove has the older burnpot design that can be upgraded to solve ignition problems, that burnpot kit is part, 1-00-777901r
  • Stove models made prior to 2013 without auto ignition have a smaller cover that is different. Those burnpots covers are now obsolete as a standalone part but are available complete with a replacement burnpot, 1-00-777907.
  • Older burnpot models can update to burnpots that use this style cover, 1-10-05802,
  • The igniter cradle for most auto-ignition burnpots has been revised by Harman, 1-00-777907. This new cradle excludes the Absolute43, some Accentra 52i models and all Harman pellet furnaces and boilers.

Instructions

Install Instructions For Harman Burn Pot Clean-Out Cover (With Thumb Screws): 1-00-06623-OEM

Installation:

1.) Make sure the unit is shut down and the stove is cool.

2.) Open the main load door and ash door.

3.) Remove the ash pan (This will give easier access to the cover on most stoves).

4.) Locate the two thumb screws and remove (If the thumb screws are stuck in place spray a small amount of penetrating oil on the thumb screws and let it sit. A pair of pliers can be used to loosen the screws: *Special care should be taken to avoid breaking the thumb screws*).

5.) After loosening the screws the cover plate can be removed (If you are replacing the screws they can be removed at this time as well).

6.) Position the new cover plate in place and tighten the thumb screws. Do not over-tighten! (If you are replacing the screws at this time you should thread both screws into the holes on the bottom of the burn pot first, then position the cover plate in place and tighten each thumb screw).

7.) Confirm that the plate is seated tightly against the bottom of the burn pot and there are no gaps present.

Troubleshooting

-If your stove is not igniting or burning correctly the cover plate should be removed and the inside of the burn pot should be cleaned/vacuumed.

-It is also important to make sure that the cover plate is seated firmly against the bottom of the burn pot. Any gap or opening will allow air to be drawn in at the bottom of the burn pot. This can cause missed ignition and an inefficient burn.

-At times a gap between the cover plate and the bottom of the stove can be resolved by simply tightening the thumb bolts. If the plate is warped it should be replaced.
