Description

Harman Pellet Stove Convection Blower 1-00-29145.  There have been multiple revisions to this motor over the years.  When installing this blower in units that previously used a rocker switch, the rocker switch can be bypassed completely or left in the high-speed position.  In most installations, you will connect the light blue and dark blue wires to the leads coming off the motor. 

Note: Older versions of the motor were dual-speed, utilizing a rocker switch to adjust the blower.  When installing this fan in units that previously used a rocker switch, the control board high/low is what will now modulate the fan speed.  The rocker switch is no longer used.

XXV/ Accentra-Cast units made without a rocker switch will ONLY have wires connecting for the Dark Blue and White. The spade on the motor for the red wire MUST be capped to prevent an accidental shorting of the circuit. Connecting a blank female wire terminal is the easiest way to do this.


Note: Turn the feed knob to test mode. Verify the blower speed slows down when switching from high to low on the rocker switch. If it does not, reverse the top and bottom wires on the rocker switch.


Troubleshooting

This is called a tangential blower. On this blower, the motor is in the middle and there are two tangential fans. The fans are mounted over a slip grommet near the motor and are stabilized with another grommet on each end of the blower fans. The number one cause of failure with tangential blowers is a build up of hair and debris on the outer grommets. From time to time, especially if you have house pets, the outer grommets may need to be pulled out and the blower axial pins cleaned.

There are two types of outer grommets that have been used in this blower. If you have a grommet with a brass bearing inside, remove the bearing from the grommet, clean it, apply two drops of 3 in 1 oil in the grommet and reinstall with the smaller diameter bearing out. If you have a nylon (white) bearing in the grommet, remove the bearing, wash it and apply one squirt of a dry silicone spray and reinstall the bearing. Additionally, when cleaning the fins (fan blades) of this type of blower, DO NOT PUSH THE BLOWER FAN to either side. The blower fan can slip left and right to center it in the housing, the fan blades can become jammed if they are pushed too far to either side when cleaning.

Unfortunately, sometimes products do not work like they are supposed to. We offer a 90 day warranty on manufacturer defects. Some manufacturers make this a very simple and easy process unfortunately others do not. Items must be used in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines to qualify for warranty replacement. Please be advised that warranty claims for these parts may take up to 4 weeks for processing, and customers must cover shipping.
